The Hot Chick Politic Show | Basic Human Connection

New Sacramento podcast "The Hot Chick Politic Show." HCP delivers informed conversations about society, charity, education, and small business. One of our mantras is "think globally, but act locally." We believe, here at HCP, that by getting familiar with the people associated with these categories (the doers) we can grow a more compassionate society. We would love to see voter turn out grow with every election, and for America to become a voting culture. Now, we have all heard the history about winning the right to vote, but less than half of all Americans actually vote. We can do this. Please take a minute to check out The Hot Chick Politic Show and listen for yourself ☺

The Hot Chick Politic Show | Your Weekly Dose of Basic Human Connection

Jan 29, 2015

Hi Friends!

Happy Thurday, everyone! Please enjoy this mid-week installment of HCP.

It just me talking about what HCP is all about and the direction we are headed.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey of discovery and understanding.

Bye,

Tami Diane

HCP provides a platform for community members to speak first hand about their experiences as a citizen.  People can speak freely because, here at HCP we provide a friendly and non-judgemental ear along with comfy chairs, beverages, and snacks on demand ;)  These interviews break stereotypes, and help acquaint folks from all walks of life.  From the bottom to the top.

We are not talking at people, we are talking to people, real people from the bottom up.  We talk about daily lives, passion, and understanding.  By putting effort into understanding our neighbor, our community, our country, and our world, we can then make educated decisions about the world.  Decisions we can take right from our neighborhood to the capitol.

Our job is to help one another.  The only way to do that is to understand one another and develop compassion.  End finger-pointing and stereotypes and become compassionate.  Compassion that becomes so clear that action is inevitable.  That is our mission.

One practical way we can see this change would be looking at voter turn out.  We would love to see voter turn out grow with every election, and for America to become a voting culture.  Now, we have all heard the history about winning the right to vote, but less than half of all Americans actually vote.   We can change this.

HCP is not here to tell you how to vote or who to vote for.  We are here to tell the story of every American citizen from the bottom up.  Personal connection to the voices and stories will provide that spark we all need to get moving.  Moving whichever way your own heart guides you.

Please take the time to check out Hot Chick Politic blog and listen for yourself :)

Hello All,

Ever wonder what politics means to you?  Not just theoretically or on election day, but how the political sphere affects our daily lives.  What do 'politics' have to do with me anyway?  A few years (ok, a decade;) ago, one of my polical science professors started her first day of lecture with this same question to all of her students.

As she watched us wriggle in our seats to try and come up with and intellectual comback, she did something really cool.  I'll never forget this, it changed the way I looked at politics...forever.

She said anybody name ONE thing.  Anything. Anything at all.  An item of clothing, the clock on the wall, the parking lot we parked in, the car we drove, you get the idea.  Name one thing that has not had to go through a political process before it became accessable for use or consumption by the general population.

Take your clothes.  Where did the fabric come from? Who or what sewed the seems together? Where was it made? how did they get to the store where you bought them?

Bureaucracy (aka 'red-tape') is the governments way of ensuring products and services are made available and meet minimum standards for consumption.  I dare you to try this exercise yourself.  See if you can name ONE thing that hasn't, at one point or another, been subjet to politics.

It was a reality check for me.  Politics, whether we like it or not, are a part of our world, and affect you personally and directly.  But, when we hear 'experts' or 'political analysts' talk on television, the disconnect is glaringly obvious.

None of us are 'experts' but we do know about values, logic, and the Golden Rule (do unto others....yatta yatta yatta).  Experts have there place, but it is time for us to have our place too.  Hot Chick Politic interview sessions are the place.  We can talke about our truth;  truths that the common people can relate to, we can hold on to, and bond over.

This podcast is about talking to those people, the doers.  The people on the 'front lines making this American life work for them.  I predict that, on this journey of interviews and connection, we will find out that we are more alike than we are different.

Goodnight All,

Tami Diane

Hello All,

Thank you for chosing Hot Chick Politic.  We have a special treat this week, it's our Super Bowl special.  And (in HCP form) its not just about football.  It's about the heart behind the players, coaches and the game.  We get sit down and talk it up with Jim.

Jim is about as "All-American" as anyone can get.  He is a Sheriff, Verteran, football coach, and dedicated family man.  Jim really does have a heart of gold.  Please enjoy this gift from him.  He opens up and gives us a refreshing perpective on American Culture, specifically football.

Happy Sunday Everyone,

Tami Diane
